December Aerra Geola Full Moon Candle
The last month of the year was Ærra Gēola, which literally means before Yule. During this month was Modraniht, Mother’s Night, which falls on December 20th. This was the holy tide where Pagans of various paths celebrated and worshiped Mothers and the female ancestral spirits that continued to watch over their families.
December was the tenth month in the Old Roman calendar. In the old Tibetan calendar December first was the beginning of the new year.
Here we say goodbye to 2023 and usher in the new year.
