The Sacred Heart of the eternal flame burns brightly and wild. Crimson, honey and tones of ichor cascade from its veins to the sacred unknown below. Crowned with solar and fire herbs of Calendula, Rosemary, Cinnamon, Dragon's Blood and Nettle.
Fire is an element surrounded by physical transformation and manifestation. It creates beginnings, ends and the creation of cycles. It is motion with severe action regardless if tamed or not. It in the earth element too wild to control and yet sought out for survival. When we burn something, like a petition, we send away the action of change and transmutation in order to bring to life our intentions.
We call upon our Gods to bless this elemental celebration to welcome in the shift in seasons, the abundance and success of the harvest whether agriculturally or person within us and the to honour the sacred light.
Midsummer is celebrated in many countries with several festivals. Even in northern Portugal there is the Festa de São João do Porto, which is a festival during Midsummer celebrated on June 23rd (Saint John's Eve).
