Ritual of the body and ritual of the spirit combined.
Tattooing is the oldest forms of physical art. In fact, the ancient history of tattoo is so varied and universal that simply picking a spot on the globe reveals a rich history of body art. Throughout the history of our planet, tattoos served many different purposes. From rites of passage that marked a person’s journey into adulthood, healing or pain relief, to designate status and for asserting protection and other forms of spell-work. Tattoos were often reserved for shamans, priests and priestesses. Still more were exclusive badges of nobility or royalty.
As history and culture have been unearthed in ways that show how deeply rooted we are in divination and esoteric works, tattooing has once again become part of our spiritual paths.
The Tattooist is intended to offer ritual healing in the way that a commercial salve will, but with the intentions of our ancestors and spirit. My sacred markings are steeped in my work and curate a space for me to expand and hold space for others. I have used this offering for years and finally wanted to extend it's magick to those who seek a more ritual process with their physical art.
